I prefer to take a modern approach to tax preparation

Connecting with me is as easy as

1

It all starts with an invite

You’ll be invited to my portal via an emailed link. The portal is a secure place where we can share documents. You’ll fill out a questionnaire, upload your documents, and I receive them on my end.

2

I prepare your tax returns

Using information provided by you, I’ll prepare your required tax returns. If I have questions, I simply call or email. I usually prefer email so I have documentation, but every situation is a little different.

3

E-Sign and you’re done!

When I’m done preparing your tax returns, I will upload them to the portal for your review, along with some required signature documents. If everything looks correct, you simply E-Sign the required forms on your tablet, smart phone, or computer & mouse. I get notified when you sign, and file your taxes!

Don’t like technology?

Don’t worry, I was born in the 80’s so I still know how to do it the old fashioned way. I’m always willing to accommodate clients that prefer to drop off and pick up their tax documents in person :)

FAQs

How much will it cost to do my taxes?

This is a loaded question! Tax preparation is as diverse as every individual. Just like you’re not the same person as your neighbor even though you live in the same neighborhood, your tax return is just as different. Just because you have an S-Corp, doesn’t mean that the time required to prepare your S-Corp return is the same as the next taxpayers S-Corp return. I go through the same basic process each time, but the volume and complexity of your transactions simply takes time in order to maximize your after tax result.

Something to think about; Potential state filing requirements, home office, rental properties, kids vs no kids, daycare, college expenses, the list goes on!

How does E-Sign work?

E-Sign is amazing! When you get a notification in your email that I uploaded signature documents to the portal, you log in to my portal at the link provided, or by visiting the “Client Login” section of my website. Click on the “Signatures” tab, answer a few identity verification questions, and sign the required forms using either a tablet, smart phone, or computer and mouse!

I am also a huge fan of DocuSign, and use it often. If you don’t have an account with my secure portal, or simply just prefer DocuSign, we’ll get along great. DocuSign uses the same kind of technology to verify your identity, so it’s another seamless, safe, and convenient option for gathering E-Signatures.

The IRS does require the use of KBA’s for most E-Signatures, these are Knowledge Based Authentication questions commonly used to confirm peoples identities. Questions are compiled from public and private data such as marketing data, credit reports or transaction histories. Your credit is not pulled, KBA’s just pull info from available credit information to verify that you are the person being asked to sign the forms. They’re usually multiple choice questions that are easy for you to answer, but not something a stranger would know.

Examples: Which of the following addresses have you ever been associated with? Which of the following vehicles have you owned in the past? Those types of things.

Don’t ever hesitate to reach out to me with questions.

What if I don’t have a scanner?

No big deal. Many of my clients take photos of their tax documents (W2s, 1098s, etc.) and upload those to the portal. As long as I can read them clearly it works for me.

What if I don’t live in Reno?

Lucky for you, my process is tailored to preparing tax returns remotely. All you need is access to a computer and we can make it work. The process is very simple, and my clients are loving it!
